|4/2014 Houston High School Earns Gold Medal|
Houston High School - Ranked 3rd in U.S. News & World Report
Congratulations to Houston High School on Being Ranked 3rd in U.S. News & World Report 2014 Best Minnesota High Schools!
A 2014 U.S. News and World Report Gold Medal School!
We are extremely proud to announce that Houston High School has been honored by U.S. News and World Report as a Gold Medal School for 2014!
We were ranked 3rd in the state of Minnesota and of the 19,411 public high schools included in the national ranking, HHS placed 308th! WOW!
Among other things, rankings are based on college readiness, test scores, and participation and success in Advance Placement (AP) classes.
In addition, the comprehensive ranking methodology “is based on the key principles that a great high school must serve all of its students well, not just those who are college bound, and that it must be able to produce measurable academic outcomes to show the school is successfully educating its student body across a range of performance indicators.”
Summit Learning Center, Houston’s alternative learning center, was awarded a Bronze medal…a feat that is almost unheard of from an area learning center. The students, staff, and community should be very proud of these distinguished awards.
