HHS Concert Band Earns Superior Rating at Large Group Contest
HHS Concert Band Earns Superior Rating at Large Group Contest
Congratulations to the HHS Concert Band on their Superior Rating they earned at the Large Group Contest at Fillmore Central Tuesday night!

Great Performance! The judges had some really nice things to say about your performance. Way to go, Canes!

Groups must score 35-40 out of 40 in order to obtain a Superior Rating and receive 2 or 3 Superiors from the 3 judges in order to achieve an overall Superior.  The Ensembles are judged on 8 different categories worth 5 points each.  The band was complimented on their choice of music, great use of dynamics, balance of the instruments and overall musical effect.  They were also given some constructive suggestions on things to work on to become even better.

The Band performed Beautiful Savior by James Swearingen and American Riversongs by Pierre LaPlante.  The HHS Band and Choir now turn their attention to their upcoming Music tour to Nashville starting on March 29.  Fifty-seven students will be touring and performing for 6 days and 5 nights.  Solo and Ensemble comes after that on April 14.

The Band’s final concert will be in May.
