Due to freezing rain and dropping temperatures, Houston Public Schools will be dismissing early today. The Elementary and Preschool will be dismissed at 1:30PM. If you have students who walk home, please come pick them up at the elementary and preschool. High School will be dismissed at 1:45PM.

Community Blood Drive: The Red Cross will be at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church on Tuesday, March 22 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This is a community blood drive sponsored by the Houston Lions Club and the Houston Legion Auxiliary. Friday, March 11: Kindergarten Open House for children that will be 5 years old by September 1st, 2022, going into kindergarten this fall. If you have a child or know of a child, in the Houston School District, that will be 5 years old by September 1st please make sure the family knows about the open house. Current kindergarten students will not have school this Friday.

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of our new teachers here at HPS yesterday at our new teacher in-service. We are looking forward to a great year with all of these wonderful teachers!

The 3rd grade classes took a walk to Valley View Nursing Home and Heritage Court while Fool’s Spring was looming! They brough a little magic with them in the form of colored bubbles to blow in the wind. The students enjoyed singing and dancing for some of the residents and had a wonderful time visiting. The students were greeted with loving smiles on the other side of the windows.
