Recognizing that good nutrition has a positive effect on learning and good health, the mission of the Food Service Department is to provide nutritious meals to students, staff, and the community-at-large, in a very caring and customer-friendly environment, with menus that emphasize freshly prepared foods, more whole grains, no trans fats, legumes, fresh fruits and vegetables, minimally processed foods, and decreased use of foods containing high fructose corn syrup.
Hi! My name is Robin Wedl and I am the Food Service Director for Houston Public Schools. We have exciting plans in the works to expand our menus this year at the High School level, continue development for the Culinary Club and the Kids in the Kitchen classes, and still make lunch a fun, personal and educational part of the school day. We will try new foods, laugh a little and share a lot of smiles.
