Welcome everyone to District 294! My name is Mary Morem and I am so excited to be your superintendent. I am happy to begin this journey together.
I want to take a moment to introduce myself to all of you. I am married, have three wonderful adult children and two beautiful granddaughters. I am starting my 27th year in education and am just excited as when I began. I love working with students, families, staff and the community to create a love of learning. I have been fortunate to have had a wide variety of experiences that have led me to this position. I have been an elementary teacher, middle school math and science teacher, a coach and a principal at all three levels. I also have partnered with our school district over the past years and have been impressed with all the students and staff that make up our schools. I can’t wait to meet all of you and share our talents with one another.
A strong school system is only achieved by an actively engaged partnership with the community based on trust and confidence. As a leader I plan to be visible and available to all. I want to work with you to continue to build the best education possible for all students and what they are passionate about. I want all to be valued, welcomed and challenged to be their best.
I have an open door policy. Please feel free to come in and introduce yourself. As your superintendent of schools, I look forward to working with all of you and getting to know you all.
