Houston, MN— At a special board meeting on June 2, 2026, the Houston School Board unanimously voted to select Angela McAndrews as the district’s next superintendent.

“Angela has demonstrated that she not only meets but exceeds the hiring criteria established by our board and confirmed through the stakeholder survey. As the new leader of Houston Public Schools, she will be able to build on past work and successes, and she is committed to moving the district forward. We are excited for this next chapter to begin,” said Josh Norlien, Houston Public School Board Chair.
The school board will be conducting negotiations with Angela McAndrews, and a contract is expected to be approved by the school board at a June 4 board meeting.
The pending start date for Angela McAndrews will be July 1, 2026.
